Kai
"All of the staff at OKC Speech have been wonderful and you have all been integral in his progress and success going forward. Everyone has been so kind, patient and accommodating to his needs ,frustrations and antics!” -With love and so many thanks from Kai and his family! 💗
Kai is a 6-year-old who is full of love, laughter, and determination. Kai endured a brain injury at the age of 3 that lead to encephalitis and seizures. The severity of those lead to his inability to walk, neglect of right upper extremity, decreased motor coordination, loss of speech, and ability to eat/swallow food. Despite the loss of all of this, Kai has never lost his fun-loving spirit that has so much determination for succeeding and spreading his joy to others. He also never meets a stranger. Kai loves people and interaction with others, showing the same excitement and love to anyone he meets.
Kai began his journey with OKC Speech in June of 2020 and has progressed in many areas physically and emotionally. He receives PT and OT where he has obtained a KidWalk which is a gait mobility system that allows him to have use of his lower extremities independently; and a Special Tomato activity chair that provides proper positioning for safety and comfort when engaging in activities.
